About Us

What is Reachout?

Reachout was established in 1993, initially as a drama group for adults experiencing mental health distress or interested in mental health issues or, who just wanted to act.

The motivation has remained constant and throughout the years Reachout has continued to develop and diversify into a multi art form project exploring a diverse range of creative arts, music and drama.

Reachout is unique within Forth Valley and works within an identified and recognised gap in provision. Individuals with chronic long term illness have used Reachout services over the years, for others our workshops have served as a vital stepping stone, preventing relapse, maintaining wellbeing and finding ‘a’ road to recovery. Member transitions include volunteering across Clackmannanshire, further education and employment, and social enterprise in the creative industries.

Reachout has demonstrated exceptional & creative ways for artists, members of the community and arts educators to work together, achieving awards & local and international recognition in the benefit the creative arts provide to mental health & wellbeing.

When You Come Along

You will be surprised by the open and friendly nature of Reachout. This is because members are involved in the day to day management of Reachout.

Reachout is self-managed by members, giving them a sense of ownership and commitment, this is a significant factor in Reachout’s success.

What Can I Do?

Members participate in a range of creative experiences such as painting, digital photography, sculpture, stained glass, creative writing & lyrics, producing animations, presenting workshops in their community and participating in exhibitions & outreach events.
